I am so Tickled

Lost Coast Designs Stamps has me tickled!

And this fabulous Lost Coast Designs Stamp is what has made me feel that way.

There are 4 stamps in the series of doodled feathers, I used only one here and changed the appearance with markers.

Here is an example of mounting stamps on acrylic blocks when you do not have mounting material (sticky spongey sheets that you cut to fit each stamp).   I have used all sorts of double-sided tapes,  even a Zyron tape.  Simply attach the tape to the block and then press the stamp onto the tape. VIOLA. When you are done, no mess!

As you can tell, I do
like my markers for
so many projects.
After coloring them, I cut them sort of loose, not really a fussy or fancy cut.  I then added a black paper to the back for more dimension.  I layered three together for the front of the card.

I wasn't sure if I would make a card or another mobile.   We have these lovely black pearl card sets and it seemed to really make the feathers pop, so it is a card!  The cards are black in color.

Below is the front and inside of the card

I added our fabulous hand dyed ribbon as a accent on the card front, since it picked up the wonderful colors of the feathers.

I do think these would make a beautiful talisman mobile with colorful threads and ribbons wrapped around the feather base, I may do that for my next post!

Did you ever wonder about the parts of a feather?

this posting made me wonder...

The shaft is also called the quill.

Are you paying attention to our Facebook products of the day?  We will draw for a winner who can name all the products in order for the week.  AND they will WIN ...

Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.
