Altered Pages 2016 Highlights in Review

Let us all look back upon the creative awesomeness this past year on the AlteredPages blog with our Design Team.




In January 1/2/16 Lyneen Jesse created super cute
"Not a Red Valentine Tag" with soft pink.


February 2/15/16 brought fairy magic with Trish Alger's shaker reverse canvas 
"Lucy On the Moon".


Judy Wood whipped up March 3/7/16 fun with "Acrylic Stamping".


"Creating a VELADORA" shined a light on Trisha Neal in April 4/7/16.


Fabulous techniquing (I'm sure that is a word) was demonstrated in May 5/26/16 by Danie May in "Packing Tape Postcards".


June 6/13/16 belonged to Barbara Rankin with "Father's Day Card From a Daughter".


Stephanie Siatta kicked off July 7/1/16 and Dixie Belle chalk paints for
"July Begins with Dixie Belle Paints".


Back to school in August 8/26/16 made the grade with Robin Horasanian's 
"You Hold the Key".


"#September ATCs Week 4" introduced some guest ATC artist's in September 9/24/16 like Gwen Johnson-Brown.


Introducing Jen Rothstein in October 10/10/16
"Victorian Box (with a touch of steampunk)".


November 11/13/16 features our fearless creative leader Jean Moore with 
"Sweet Sprinkled Tart Tins".


Repurposing is Debi Tullier's December 12/21/16 forte, "Shadow Box".

 Handy Tip for Artists, Recyclers and Neat Freaks! I have a follow-up to the Citra-Sol method for creating fabulous background pages and collages.   I bought a big bag of navel oranges and realized I had the ingredients to make my own solvent!   Simply take a clean glass jar, peel the rind from the oranges and place all the rind/peels, without the pulp (tangerines, oranges, navels) into the jar.   Pour enough vinegar over the peels to cover them.    Allow the jar to sit for a week or two and VOILA!     You have made your own solvent for literally pennies.    You will notice the liquid getting a bit thicker than the plain vinegar and it does not smell bad!!! I now have a  HUGE jar on the window sill!       Be careful and only use this after testing on a safe spot.

DINA WAKLEY Featured Artist

We are SO Proud to present Dina Wakley with her ART and February Tip   (oops, she says she is totally disorganized, so there is HOPE for all of us!) Dina Wakley is a mixed-media artist and teacher. She loves everything about art: creating it, thinking about it, looking at it, and teaching it. Dina is passionate about teaching art. She teaches both in-person and online workshops.  She is a docent at the Phoenix Art Museum, where she gives tours to school groups and gets kids excited about art. As a Ranger Signature Designer, Dina designs a line of mixed-media art supplies that includes acrylic paints, mediums, brushes, rubber stamps, stencils, and more.
