Gearing up for Steampunk

I love all these great gear shapes from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.  Large, small, thin, chunky, smooth, teeth...a little bit of everything.  Our Design Team has shown you several ways to decorate your chipboard.  My favorite way is to paint them.  I have several bottles of metallic color acrylic paint and I painted several gears in each of the colors. So bright and shiny!  Well, that won't do.  Some brown StazOn ink and a cotton swab makes these chipboard gears look aged. For the background of my card, I chose a gray pattern from the 6x6 Authentique paper pad Durable.  I chose two pictures from the Fly With Steam collage sheet for my Steampunk theme.  Two stencils and more of the same brown ink from the gears help blend the image into the background. And now the fun part!!  I grabbed my Tacky Glue and layered the gears all around the image.  Everything was adhered to a black card base and it's done! Supplies: Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Gears 6x6 Aut

Break Out ~ Be Free with an ATB

Happy Tuesday to Everyone. It's Jean to share a wood ATB using GSL Cuts, Dixie Belle paints and other yummy ingredients with you. The base is Dixie Belle Palmetto and Clear Coat mixed together, goes on smooth as silk!    I added the clear coat to get a more translucent look, two coats make it opaque, or just use the paint as is for full coverage.      I painted the chipboard with our AlteredPages Americana Chalk Paint,   color Vintage. I cut a Steampunk Butterfly in half with my Kai Scissors (I have had mine for 6 years & abuse them horribly but they are as sharp as the day I got them!) and used a sturdy glue to adhere to the back side of the ATB.  (I did paint the back side later too)   For the front of the ATB, first I used our Alpha stencil, the perfect size for an ATB, in color Vintage again..  I used a Birdcage and birds GSL cuts.  For the cage, I used RebelYellow Dixie Belle Paint.   I kept the Birds out of the cage for the theme. Fly With Steam Mixed Media Canvas

Hi everyone!  Barbara here today with a fluttery-steampunk-style mixed media canvas using  Altered Pages  products and our those from our partner,  Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts ! First, I grabbed a 6"x9"  Canvas Panel Board  and gave it a light coat of  Liquitex Gesso  before I added a bit of molding paste through a stencil.  Then I laid out my Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts chipboard pieces to see how they will look.  I always give my chipboard a light coat of gesso before adding color.  In this case, I used the  Chalk Paints  in Brown, Romance, and Heritage.  I used a sponge or  Ranger Blending Tool  to pick up the colors and dab them onto the chipboard.  I find this works better than a brush because it does not fill in any of the small openings in the laser cuts. I was going for a rusty look, and I even added some brown to the  Pen Nibs  to make them look old.  Set these aside to dry. Back to the canvas, I painted the background with Heritage  Chalk Paints , then u
