Yellowstone Vacation

Then add Yellowstone image from Have a Great Vacation  collage sheet.   Tie coordinating colors of Sari Silk Ribbon   to the metal rings.    You have an album to enjoy for years to come!     To see the inside of the photo album see the post   Our Summer Vacation     Supplies: Altered Pages Collage Sheets: Have a Great Vacation Route 66  Black cardstock Double sided tape Black Photo Corners   Uniball White Pen   Glitz Board Album   with metal rings   Sari Silk Ribbon     We hope you have enjoyed our month traveling around the US! My Favorite Place in Fall

It's Jean here and I'm feeling a bit nostalgic knowing that Fall is coming. Even though it's still hot in Arizona we can feel the changes coming.  The sun is shifting in the sky and the mornings are just a bit cooler . Truth be told, it is difficult to find a place more beautiful in Fall than Pennsylvania.  The lush rolling hills become carpets of gold, red and amber mixed into green and brown backgrounds.   Crunching leaves are underfoot, apple cider is served, the sky becomes crystal blue with a bright sun. Not only the colors, but the textures of fall are lovely.   Hay bales, burlap and corn husks lay a backdrop for decor.        I created a piece for today's post that reminds me of Fall days in Pennsylvania, my home state.    I used our fabulous adhesive sheets on which I printed AP collage #1951 Fall Splendor using an inkjet printer.   For one example I used the Adhesive Transparency Sheet and on another candle I used an Adhesive Vellum Shee

Manifesting the Trip of a Lifetime with A Shadow Box Shrine

Hi Everyone Danie here and I am so thrilled to be back as part of the Altered Pages Team.  This month we are traveling the USA.  I have never been to the States but it is on my bucket list as I have family scattered throughout Wisconsin and even more cousins can be found in New York City and San Diego.  The closest US State to me here in Australia is Hawaii and it is my hubby's dream to get there next year, and of course if he is going so am I. It will be a sacred journey for my husband as he will be heading there so he can complete the final level of his training as a  Lomi Lomi Practictioner.  Lomi Lomi means to knead, to squeeze and to make soft and is also the name given to a particular style of massage that stems from ancient tradition and is passed from generation to generation through a linage.  Rod's teacher and mentor I believe is the first female and first non american to be passed the linage.   It is a very spiritual and healing style of energy work and to be able

Nashville, Tennessee

I love country music.  You need to know that to understand how excited I was to take this trip. Several years ago, my husband and I took a vacation in Nashville, Tennessee because we wanted to see the Country Music Hall of Fame and a couple of Nashville Predators hockey games.  We couldn't plan for a time when our home team would be in town so we chose to see games with the Dallas Stars and the San Jose Sharks...in case you were wondering why a Detroit-born girl is wearing a sharks T-shirt.  I made a scrapbook for our trip when we got home but it has just been in a plain three-ring binder.  BORING!  The photo pages have been moved to a binder that allows artwork to be displayed on the front cover so I made this collage page with the help of Altered Pages . It was just us on this vacation so almost all of the photos are of either me or hubby, but not both.  We finally asked someone to take this picture of the both of us.  It's the only one we have of us together in Nash

New York, and some awesome arty finds

Thank you for traveling across the USA with us this month at Altered Pages--I have a super New York collage sheet to show you today, and am sharing some fun Altered Pages inspiration, as well. First, check out the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty on this collage page.  Are you thinking POP UP CARD, too??? There are supplies a plenty to complement any travel themed project, but one of my favorite Altered Pages treasures is the Transit Tokens , which are PERFECT for New York!  I have quite a stash of them;  here is a pic of one used in the Summer By The Sea book-- These tokens are a special way to add an authentic vintage touch to any project.  My favorite way to attach them? Well, the ones with the spaces in them, like the token above, I use the Lightbulb Safety Pins , or a bit of beautiful Sari Silk Ribbon is always gorgeous. There are also a couple of stamp sets with some great travel images, both from Glitz--the ferris wheel in the Afternoon Muse Set

Road Trip Memories--Part Two

Hello Altered Pages fans. The newness has not worn off--I'm still giddy to be here. I'm  Betsy Skagen of Paper Calliope  and today I'm going to show you the tags that I made for my  Vintage Altered Art Suitcase . Here's a picture of the suitcase that I made in Part One of the tutorial. So one thing I learned from the Quintessential American Road Trip I took with my family this summer is that road trips are full of snapshot memories. Many are breathtaking, some are frustrating and a few are downright funny. For example, it was hilarious how for the first 20 hours of our trip, all four of us got obsessed with the STUPIDEST GAME EVER. Here's the objective: to count the most cows. Yep, that's it. Could it get any more stupid? What makes the game amusing is if your team passes a church on your side of the road, your cows marry and you get to double the number of your cows. However, if there's a cemetery on your side of the road, all your cow

Louisiana Masked!

I love Louisiana! I would love to share the feeling that exist there. The warmth, love and fun that we all share. I know that many people think of Louisiana as a place filled with party filled lifestyles, Mardi Gras and indulgences.  Yes but there is so much more than that. Louisiana is rich in history, dialects, and food. It is a place of hope and love. My wish is that you one day can experience all of its beauty and people. I hope you enjoy my Mask of fun from my heart to yours! Supplies: dollar store mask chipboard glue Popsicle sticks Gesso Gelatos Acrylic Paint Louisiana Collage sheet Cemetery Angels fibers, yarns, ribbons beads sequins glitter   Please comment daily to share the love with our artists and be entered into the random drawing for a package of vintage postcards and a vintage map.   (value 17.00)

Visit the USA Mini Album Pages: Part Two

Hello everyone!  Barbara Rankin  here.  As you know, the Altered Pages design team are taking trips throughout the USA this month.  The team has chosen two states to feature, and I chose California and Florida for my posts this month.  My first post featured California, but today, I am going to go with the beachy theme, so Florida it is! I am continuing to work in my  metal covered mini album  that I made a couple of months ago.  I still have lots of blank pages to work in, and like I said before,  Altered Pages  is my go to store for dressing up my mini album pages. My first page spread:  Background papers are from the Glitz Designs Pretty in Pink paper pad.  I used the  Brighton Beach  and  Vintage Vacations  collage images, layered onto slightly larger cream card stock.  I also used the "Miami Beach" image from the  USA States Florida  collage sheet. I inked two chipboard  scroll corners  with  Memento Luxe Rhubarb Stalk  and heat embossed with clear embossing po

Arizona - It's a dry heat!

Before I begin my post, I have a happy announcement to make.  You are aware that we have been fortunate to add Betsy Skagen to our Design Team in August and NOW will be adding Jessica Madaglia in September 2015.    Look for some amazing Art coming up in the next few months.   Don't believe what they tell you.  It's HOT.    118 is still 118!        Traveling across the USA provides so many opportunities to see absolute wonder and amazing scenery.  My adopted home state of Arizona is a fine example of diversity and beauty. Summer is not the time to visit however!  You know when you open your oven and that blast of heat hits you in the face....in the Arizona summer that's what happens when you walk out your front door!   Yes, there is a real reason for Siestas, not just being lazy, it's too darn hot in the middle of the afternoon to do much else! We do have amazing natural beauty and I think we are one of the few states where y
