Feature Artist Becky Voth!!!

Altered Pages is delighted to share the art of  BECKY VOTH! I am so pleased to have Becky as our Feature Artist.   She has always been very creative, it runs in the family with her Sister and Mom!   I saw her grow to become a fabulous canvas artist through her diligent practice and taking many classes.  I knew she would move on and that made me a bit sad, but her talents have to be shared and grow even more!   She remains a friend and I will always support her artful endeavors!   Proud to have made the connection, Becky!   We still have her kits on our website and they continue to sell to people who like Becky's creative process.  ~ Jean    Hello All! I am super excited to be a Feature Artist on Altered Pages today! Some of you may remember me as a Design Team member here on Altered Pages, but this past January, I decided to take my mixed media art to the next level with commission work, shows & teaching. In the past year & a half, we moved from Denv

Have you tried NORI PASTE ?

Hi, Jean here on a blogging Sunday.   Yesterday was very unusual in AZ, it was a bit cloudy, sprinkled and stayed below 80 degrees!    HEAVENLY. ON to my Blog project.   I trust Karen Elaine from Yasutomo (Japan) and when she recommended Nori Paste , I said, that's good enough for me!   Karen is the artist behind Splash Inks, one of the BEST inks you can use for everything! I tested Nori Paste on my Final project with our Unruly PaperArts blog partner.   The theme as you know by now, is Teacups and Tiaras. I had a stash of small Chinese Take-out boxes from the Dollar Store and decided to use them for a Tea Bag Gift box. I first took the box apart so I could cover the white inside surface with some decor tissue I also had in my stash.   This way the inside is colored and lovely with my theme on the outside surface. I applied the tissue to the opened box with Nori Paste and it was a dream! Nori Paste is totally nontoxic, even safe for kids.   It washes right off your h

Altered Pages with Attitude!

Today I needed a gift bag and didn't have one big enough for my gift, with no time to run to the store!!!  What does a crafty person do.... GET BUSY and make a gift bag!! Supplies: Recycle a brown paper bag with handles Altered Pages Collage Sheet Little Spring Birdies Craft Attitude™ printable film 12 x 12 card stock cut to size (POW Glitter paper) Spray adhesive Double Sided Tape Lace Ribbon Glue I had a few Altered Pages collage sheets that I had printed with my injet printer on Craft Attitude™ printable film.  The person this bag is for loves birds, I had a full sheet of Altered Pages Collage Sheet Little Spring Birdies  waiting to be used.  To make the bag, fussy cut each of the Craft Attitude printable film birds.  When cutting they became separated from the backing.  I held the film images with the backing as I cut to give the film more substance during  cutting.  Cut the 12 x 12 card stock to fit the bag.  The brown paper bag front a

Box for tea bags and trinkets

It’s Friday!!   Hurrah!   Robin here and I’m happy to be back with another project here on the Altered Pages blog.   We are continuing our month-long partnership with Unruly PaperArts and Leaky Shed Studio products.   I have an origami project to share with you today.   I recently purchased a disk from HSN during Craft Month (a.k.a. March) and it has a wide variety of projects on it.   I love this little triangle box.   In keeping with the theme this month, it’s the perfect size to hold a tea bag and a little treat.   Sometimes origami can be a little complicated for me, but I was able to get this one right the first try and it only took a few minutes.   You need one sheet of 12x12 scrapbook paper.   It can be single or double sided.   I chose a two-sided pattern because I liked the thought of having a pretty inside to the box.   You don’t want card stock for the box part of this project because it will make the folds too bulky.   I am using Graphic 45 French Country paper.
